New Parliament Bhumi Pujan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House in New Delhi on Thursday. The four-storey new parliament building is proposed to be constructed in an area of ​​64,500 square meters at an estimated cost of Rs 971 crore. Its construction will be completed by the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. Each Member of Parliament will be provided 40 square meters of space for office in the reconstructed Shram Shakti Bhawan, whose construction will be completed by 2024.

In a statement issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, it was said that the design of the new parliament building has been prepared by M / s HCP Design and Management Private Limited, Ahmedabad. It will be built by Tata Projects Limited. The new building will be equipped with all modern audio-visual communication facilities and data network systems. Special attention is being given to ensure that during the construction work there is minimal disruption in the holding of the Parliament sessions and all environmental safeguards are followed. Leaders of various political parties, Union ministers and ambassadors of many countries attended this ceremony.

There will be 6 routes to go to the new parliament house. An entrance will be for the PM and the President. There will be 1 Speaker and 2 Public Entrance for the entry of MPs, Speaker of one Lok Sabha, Chairperson of one Rajya Sabha. There will be a total of 120 offices in it. In which there will be committee room, the office of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, PM Office etc. It will not have a central hall. Paperless work will be done in the offices of the new building. It will also have a library, lounge, dining area for MPs. Parking in it will also be of modern technology. The building will have a smart display on the furniture. There will be a biometric system for ease of voting. In the new Parliament House, the translation system will be a special attraction, so that every MP can understand the speech of every language.

Capacity of Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha Room

According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, there will be a seating arrangement of 888 members in the Lok Sabha Room of the new Parliament House, which will also have a seating arrangement of 1224 members during the joint session. Similarly, there will be a seating arrangement of 384 members in the Rajya Sabha chamber. The glorious heritage of India will also be shown in the new Parliament House. Craftsmen and craftsmen from every corner of the country will incorporate cultural diversity in this building through their art and contribution. The new parliament building will be state-of-the-art, equipped with technical facilities and energy-efficient.

Will be equipped with new safety features

The new building of triangular shape adjacent to the existing Parliament House will be equipped with security facilities. The new Lok Sabha will be three times larger than the current size. The size of the Rajya Sabha has also been increased. The decoration of the new building will have a rich blend of the diversity of Indian culture, regional arts, crafts and architecture. Central Constitutional Gallery has been given space in the design plan. Common people will be able to see it. Green technology will be used in the construction of new parliament building and environment-friendly working style will be promoted. This will create new employment opportunities and open doors for economic revival.

The new parliament house will have high-quality sound and audio-visual facilities, comfortable seating, effective and inclusive emergency evacuation. The building will comply with the highest structural safety standards, including adhering to the requirements of seismic zone 5 and is designed to be easy to maintain and operate. According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the new Parliament House will be a symbol of India’s democracy and the pride of the people of India, which will not only reveal the glorious history of the country but also its unity and diversity.
